I worked in healthcare for over 40 years. Had to wear name tags and ID badge holders to enter hospitals. Whenever I see an ugly corporate lanyard I cringe. They are one-size-fits-all, so for most of us, our ID card hangs at our crotch. So inappropriate!
Typically, the corporate lanyards or ID badge reels are the company colors which probably isn’t what you wear every day. I worked for a company that’s main color was orange. Very few people wear orange, let alone look good in bright orange.
WI Girl Designs started with a beaded lanyard that I received as a gift from my manager. It broke unexpectedly so I decided to fix it myself. I didn't have the right tools, so bought tools and the 'Jewelry Beading for Dummys' book. I was hooked! I started making badge holders for coworkers and teammates. It developed into necklaces, bracelets, earrings, medical ID alert bracelets, and eye glass holders.
